In his letter to Timothy (1 Timothy 6:4-21), Paul gave three “F’s” to Timothy when he would set him on his guard. Look at them:<\/p>\n

  1. “Flee these things<\/strong>” (1Ti 6:4-11).\n
      \n
    1. Swelling of pride (R. Y.). “Puffed up.”<\/li>\n
    2. Folly of ignorance.<\/li>\n
    3. Dotage of questionings (margin, “sick”).<\/li>\n
    4. “Strifes of words” (R.Y., “disputes”).<\/li>\n
    5. Envy of jealousy.<\/li>\n
    6. Strife of temper.<\/li>\n
    7. Railings of incrimination.<\/li>\n
    8. Surmisings of evil.<\/li>\n
    9. Love of money.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    10. “Follow after<\/strong>” (1Ti 6:6, 11).\n
        \n
      1. “Righteousness” of life.<\/li>\n
      2. “Godliness” of character.<\/li>\n
      3. “Faith” of devotion.<\/li>\n
      4. “Love” of faithfulness.<\/li>\n
      5. “Patience” of endurance.<\/li>\n
      6. “Meekness” of manner.<\/li>\n
      7. “Contentment” of thankfulness.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      8. “Fight the good fight of faith<\/strong>” (R.V., “The faith”).\n

        1. By “a good profession” (1Ti 6:12).<\/li>\n
        2. By keeping “this commandment” (1Ti 6:14).<\/li>\n
        3. By charging the rich not to be “high-minded” (1Ti 6:17).<\/li>\n
        4. By being “rich in good works” (1Ti 6:18).<\/li>\n
        5. By laying “hold of eternal life” (1Ti 6:19).<\/li>\n
        6. By keeping “the faith” of the Gospel (1Ti 6:20-21).<\/li>\n
        7. By being “ready to sympathise” (margin, R.V., 1Ti 6:18).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
